The insurance program at the Katie School offers an excellent classroom education for students pursuing careers in insurance and financial services. This is complemented with outstanding experiences outside of class to further develop our students through activities in the corporate sector.
The industry is an important component of the Katie School and numerous industry professionals speak to classes and share experiences with students and faculty. Over 90 companies recruit students on our campus each year offering career and internship opportunities. Scholarships provided by companies and organizations are awarded to outstanding insurance majors and minors, with more than $100,000 awarded annually.
A select number of outstanding students have the opportunity to participate in the Katie School Student Leadership Program which further enriches the students in such areas as communication, leadership, critical thinking, and team building, and concludes with a risk consulting project with one of several local not-for profit organizations.
OTHER POINTS TO NOTE
An actuarial science major is offered through the Department of Mathematics.
The program is accredited by the American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
