Redbird Risk Management Challenge - Participants, Parents, & Teachers

What is the Redbird Risk Management Challenge?

The Challenge brings together 20 of the brightest high school seniors-to-be in the nation who form teams to compete in this annual week-long event, each endeavoring to claim the title of The Challenge Champion. Competitors form teams and assume the roles of senior level management in their “corporations” and compete with one another by developing and implementing strategies that navigate a mine field of potential disasters; any of which might leave their company in financial ruin. The team that best manages its company’s financial resources over the course of the competition claims the crown for that year.

The Challenge is a unique experience where the Illinois State University campus actually becomes the classroom as teams are frequently sent out on “missions” to collect information, generate “revenue” and resolve other tasks related to the management of their corporations. Serving as guides during the week, current university students live with The Challenge participants on a 24/7 basis.

If selected for participation, students receive a scholarship that covers the costs associated with participation and room-and-board for the duration of the event. The award-winning experience is guaranteed to challenge participants while creating life-long memories and friendships with other participants from around the nation.
